Concepción de la Sierra is an Argentine city in the south of the province of Misiones, head of the Concepcion department. It is located at latitude 27°58 'South and longitude 55°31' West on the banks of the Uruguay River. It was founded in 1619 by the Jesuit Father San Roque González de Santa Cruz, who arrived in the Arecutai River region and founded the reduction of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception of Ibitiracuá, the first of the territory. After choosing the winners of the village carnivals, they also compete in the carnival of the Province of Misiones.
