Yantzaza is one of the cantons that make up the province of Zamora Chinchipe, Ecuador. The origin of its name is due to the presence of the Yantzaza Valley and its cantonal head. Like Zamora, it shares limits with the other cantons in which the province is divided, except Chinchipe, Palanda and Nangaritza. By the North it borders with the province of Azuay and Morona-Santiago. To the East with the Department of Amazonas, Peru. The Cordillera del Cóndor serves as a delimitation between the two countries. The canton is popularly also known as «The Valley of the Fireflies».
