Astorga is a municipality and city of Spain located in the central area of ​​the province of León, in the autonomous community of Castilla y León. The city suffered the consequences of the French occupation and was one of the first cities that rose up against the French, with the mutiny of peasants and day laborers on May 2,1808. The French army entered the city on December 31st.
