Joquicingo is one of the 125 municipalities of the State of Mexico, it is a mainly rural community that has an area of 63,208 km² and whose municipal seat is the town of Joquicingo de León Guzmán. By the year 2020 it is considered low population, as well as being one of the municipalities with high poverty and illiteracy rate of the entity, besides being one of the municipalities with the lowest educational quality in the country, as well as low economic growth, cultural and social. It limits the north with Tenango del Valle and Texcalyacac. To the south with Ocuilan, Malinalco and Tenancingo. To the east with Texcalyacac, Tianguistenco and Ocuilan.
And to the west with Tenancingo and Tenango del Valle, according to the 2010 census it has a total population of 12 840 inhabitants.
