The municipality of Cosautlán de Carvajal is located in the state of Veracruz in the mountainous center of the state. It is one of the 212 municipalities of the entity. It is located at coordinates 19°19'56.8 "N 96°59'28.2" W and has a height of 1240 meters above sea level. The main rivers are the Pescados River, the Huitzilapa River and the La Antigua River. The municipality is made up of 25 localities in which 14,724 people live. Its limits are: North: Teocelo. South: Tlaltetela. This: Tlaltetela. West: Ixhuacán de los Reyes.
Cosautlán de Carvajal has its celebrations on the days 1 to 4 of February, when the religious titular celebration is celebrated, in honor to the Virgin of the Candlemas, that is employer of the town. June 13 is the religious festival in honor of San Antonio in the locality of Limones.
