Santiago Pinotepa Nacional
Santiago Pinotepa Nacional is a city, and Mexican municipal seat, located in the state of Oaxaca. The name of Pinotepa is derived from the words Pinolli = House collapsed, dust and Tepetl = Hill. Pan = towards, so it literally means "Toward the collapsed hill". It is worth mentioning that in the Se'en savi dialect, it is called Ñuu Oko = pueblo veinte, due to the fact that, according to the Mixteco peoples, there were 20 families from the Mixtec region of Tlaxiaco who came to populate the coast.
