Ocotlán de Morelos
Ocotlán de Morelos is one of the 570 municipalities that make up the Mexican state of Oaxaca. It belongs to the district of Ocotlán, within the central valleys region. Its head is the homonymous locality. The municipality received that name in honor and in memory of José María Morelos, an insurgent military in the independence of Mexico, in the Zapotec language, his name Luguialachi, and it was called that because it was every Friday, and for a long time, the headquarters of the tianguis or most important trade fair in the region.
