General Terán
General Terán is a municipality of Mexico located in the state of Nuevo León. It was given this name in honor of General Manuel Mier y Teran, a New Spain insurgent who fought in the ranks of Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla in 1810 and later with José María Morelos y Pavón, against the Spanish monarchy and in favor of the independence of Mexico. It has a territorial extension of 2,465 km². It borders to the north with Los Ramones to the south with Linares, Montemorelos and the state of Tamaulipas, to the east with China and to the west with Montemorelos and Cadereyta Jiménez.
