Susupuato is a municipality located in the east of the Mexican state of Michoacán, it is part of the Quencio Valley. It has a total area of 273.33 km², which represents only 0.46% of the surface area of the State of Michoacán. Its borders are, to the north, with Juarez, to the south and east with the State of Mexico and to the west with Tuzantla. The population of the municipality ascends up to 7703 inhabitants, according to the 2005 census. The main urban nucleus is Susupuato de Guerrero. In pre-Columbian times the area was inhabited by the purepecha, mazahua, otomí and nahuatl peoples. The most important towns are Copandaro, Rancho Viejo, Tremesino and the municipal capital.
Climate is mainly hot in the region of hot earth, and temperate in the town of Copandaro. The main party is March 21.
