Tlajomulco de Zúñiga is a city and municipality in the Central Region of the state of Jalisco, Mexico. It is part of the metropolitan area of Guadalajara and is located southwest of it. Its name is interpreted as "Earth in the Corner". Its territorial extension is 636.93 km2. According to the 2010 Population and Housing Census, the municipality has 416,626 inhabitants and is mainly dedicated to the secondary sector, which is part of the macro region of Bajío Occidente de México. Being part of the metropolitan area of Guadalajara, Tlajomulco is the base of the industry and a large part of the commerce of the area. This is also where the Guadalajara International Airport is located.
During the last years it has also been the headquarters of several luxury and middle class residential projects that promote coexistence with nature by being further removed from the city.
