El Salto
El Salto is a city and municipality in the Central Region of the state of Jalisco, Mexico. It is part of the Metropolitan Zone of Guadalajara, next to San Pedro Tlaquepaque, Tonalá, Tlajomulco and Zapopan. It is located approximately 25 km south of Guadalajara. According to the II Population and Housing Count of 2005, the municipality had 111,436 inhabitants, its territorial extension is 41.50 km² and the population is mainly dedicated to the secondary sector. The main colonies are Pintas, Pintitas, San José del 15, El Castillo, San Jose del Verde, Santa Rosa, La Huizachera, La Azucena, Las Lilas and its municipal seat. In the municipal capital the waterfall of El Salto de Juanacatlán is located.
