Zapotlán el Grande
Zapotlán el Grande is a municipality in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. It is located in the South Region. Its name comes from Nahuatl and means Tzapotlan. Its territorial extension is 295.29 km2. According to the 2010 Population and Housing Census, the municipality has 140,000 inhabitants and the municipal seat has 139,750 inhabitants and is mainly dedicated to the tertiary sector. The municipal head is Ciudad Guzmán. Great artists such as José Clemente Orozco, Rubén Fuentes, Consuelo Velázquez, Guillermo Jiménez and Juan José Arreola were born in the municipality among many others.
