City of Staunton
Staunton is one of the 39 independent cities in the US state of Virginia. In the 2000 census the city had a population of 23,853 inhabitants. Despite being an independent city, Staunton functions as the county seat of Augusta. It is also one of the two main cities in the metropolitan area of Staunton-Waynesboro. The city is known to be the birthplace of Woodrow Wilson, the 28th president of the United States. Also, Staunton houses the Mary Baldwin College.
