Departamento de Magallanes
Magallanes is a department of the province of Santa Cruz, Argentina. It is bordered on the north by the Deseado department, on the west by the Río Chico, on the south by Corpen Aike, and on the east by the Atlantic Ocean. Its name comes from the homonymous explorer, the first European to arrive in the current Argentine territory, when in 1520 he landed in San Julián Bay, located in the department.
