Cantón Pastaza
The Pastaza canton is an Ecuadorian subnational territorial entity, of the Province of Pastaza. Its cantonal head is the city of Puyo, place where a large part of its total population is grouped. It brings together seven nationalities Shuar, Achuar, Shiwiar, Kichwa, Andwa, Sapara, Waodani. Place where the headquarters of the Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of the Ecautoriana Amazonia CONFENIAE. Its population is 62,016 inhabitants, it has an area of 19,727 sq. Km. Its current mayor for the period 2014 - 2019 is Dr Roberto de La Torre.
