Moravia is a canton located in the northern area of the province of San José, in Costa Rica, and belonging to the Greater Metropolitan Area. It borders to the west with the cantons of San Isidro and Santo Domingo, to the southwest with the canton of Tibás, to the south with the canton of Goicoechea and to the east and north with the canton of Vásquez de Coronado, and has a territorial extension of 28,62 km², its head is the district of San Vicente, with a city category. The canton has 61 148 inhabitants, according to the latest demographic projection of INEC.
The canton is characterized as one of the most developed in the province of San José and the country, having a Human Development Index of 0.850, classified as high. The canton stands out for its high craftsmanship and combines an old style with a modern style in its cities and towns.
