East Dunbartonshire
East Dunbartonshire is a council of Scotland, bordered by the councils of West Dunbartonshire, Stirling, North Lanarkshire and Glasgow. The administrative capital is Kirkintilloch. The territory belonging to East Dunbartonshire corresponds to part of the former counties of Stirlingshire, Dunbartonshire and Lanarkshire until 1975. East Dunbartonshire was formed in 1996, when a new administrative division was established in Scotland of unitary local government, from the districts of the former region of Strathclyde, administrative division existing since 1975, Bearsden and Milngavie and Strathkelvin.
