The Province of Copperbelt is one of the ten provinces of Zambia. It is rich in mineral mines and to the south in farming areas. Its economy had great relevance for Northern Rhodesia during the British colonization, but it was severely damaged by the global crash of copper prices in 1973 and the nationalization of mines of the same mineral by the Kenneth Kaunda government.
