The Eastern Province is one of the ten provinces of Zambia. It has 69,106 km². The capital is Chipata, although on a provisional basis. Within its limits is part of a large natural reserve, the Luagwa Sur National Park. It is the only territory of Zambia claimed by another country, in this case Malawi, who considered that the border should be in the Luangwa River. Finally he renounced his claim.
