Kosrae is an island of Micronesia and a state of the Federated States of Micronesia in the Pacific Ocean. It is part of the archipelago of Caroline Islands. It has an area of 110 km2 and a population of 7,317 inhabitants. The state is divided into four municipalities: Tufunsak, Utwa, Malem and Lelu. The capital of the state is Tofol, in the municipality of Lelu. The island stands out for its exuberant and virgin nature, the coral lagoons and the low tourist activity.
