Adolfo López Mateos was a Mexican lawyer and politician who served as the fifty-third president of the United Mexican States, serving as such during the sexennium between 1958 and 1964. Natural son of Elena Mateos. According to unofficial documents, he was the son of Gonzalo de Murga, a Spanish national. During his childhood, he and his sister Esperanza, also daughter of De Murga, adopted the surname "López", which came from the deceased husband of his mother, Mariano Gerardo López, who had died in 1904. In time, when Adolfo was candidate for senator by the State of Mexico, an official biography was created that made him born in Atizapán de Zaragoza and delayed the death of Dr. López until 1915.
