Baracoa, also called the "First City", for having been the first city founded in the country, is a city and municipality located in the province of Guantánamo, Cuba. The main products of the region are coconut, cocoa and coffee, although since the late 90s of the last century tourism has become one of its main sources of income due to its extraordinary beauty. The city was founded on August 15,1511 under the name of Our Lady of the Assumption of Baracoa by the Spanish conquistador Diego Velázquez who then held the title of Adelantado.
