Iguala de la Independencia, known simply as Iguala, is a Mexican city located in the northern region of the state of Guerrero, 190 kilometers from Mexico City. It is head of the homonymous municipality and is in a valley surrounded by nine mountains. It is the third most populous city in the state only after Chilpancingo and Acapulco.
