Nacajuca

The city of Nacajuca is the municipal seat of the homonymous municipality of Nacajuca, and is one of the municipal capitals with the smallest population of the state of Tabasco, since it has 11,289 inhabitants. However, it also has one of the largest concentrations of indigenous population speaking Mayan-Chontal throughout the state. It is located 24 km northwest of the city of Villahermosa, capital of the state, and 5 km south of the city of Jalpa de Méndez. The main economic activities are trade and agriculture.
