Villa de la Paz
Villa de la Paz is one of the 58 municipalities that constitute the Mexican state of San Luis Potosí. It is located in the north of the state and approximately 201 kilometers from the city of San Luis Potosí. It has a territorial extension of 131.33 km². According to the II Population and Housing Count of 2005, the municipality has 4,967 inhabitants, of which 2,448 are men and 2,519 are women. The name of the municipality is due to the La Paz mine, which was exploited in 1870.
