Santa María del Río
Santa María del Río is one of the 58 municipalities that constitute the Mexican state of San Luis Potosí. It is located to the south center of the state and approximately to 48 kilometers of the city of San Luis Potosí. It has a territorial extension of 1,655.55 km². According to the housing population census 2010, the municipality has 40,326 inhabitants, of which 19,242 are men and 21,084 are women. The municipality is famous for being the cradle of the rebozo de pelita, which was the most commonly used by the Chinese, was woven with blue and white threads.
