Tecomatlán is one of the 217 municipalities in which the Mexican state of Puebla is divided. It is located in the south of the state, and is part of the economic region of Izúcar de Matamoros. It represents a model municipality of development and high standard of living in a particularly poor region of the country. It has been governed in a scheme of collective organized participation in which the entire community intervenes under the coordination of the National Antorchist Movement, for which it represents a symbol of struggle and materialization of its political and economic postulates for the entire nation.
