The municipality of Tepeapulco is one of the eighty-four municipalities that make up the state of Hidalgo in Mexico. The municipal seat is the town of Tepeapulco and its most populated is Ciudad Sahagún. The municipality is located south of the Hidalgo territory between parallels 19°41 'and 19°56' north latitude. The meridians 98°22 'and 98°37' west longitude. With an altitude between 2500 and 3200 meters above sea level, this municipality has an area of 242.91 km2, and represents 1.17% of the state's surface, within the geographical region known as Altiplanicie pulquera.
It borders the municipalities of Singuilucan and Zempoala to the north, Tlanalapa to the west, Axapusco to the southwest, Emiliano Zapata to the south, Apan to the east and Cuautepec de Hinojosa to the northeast.
