The municipality of Huautla is one of the eighty-four municipalities that make up the state of Hidalgo, Mexico. Whose municipal seat is the locality of Huautla. With an altitude between 100 and 800 meters above sea level, this municipality has an area of 292.31 km2, and represents 1.40% of the surface area of the state, within the geographical region known as the Huasteca Hidalgo. It is bordered to the north by the municipality of Huejutla de Reyes and the state of Veracruz by Ignacio de la Llave.
