The municipality of Emiliano Zapata is one of the eighty-four municipalities that make up the state of Hidalgo, Mexico. Whose municipal seat is the town of Emiliano Zapata. With an altitude between 2400 and 3100 meters above sea level, this municipality has an area of 123.1 km2, and represents 0.59% of the state's surface, within the geographical region known as Altiplanicie pulquera. It borders to the north with the state of Mexico and the municipality of Tepeapulco. To the east with the municipality of Apan and the state of Tlaxcala.
