The municipality of Chapulhuacán is one of the eighty-four municipalities that make up the state of Hidalgo, Mexico. Whose municipal seat is the town of Chapulhuacán. Chapulhuacán is located north of the Hidalgo territory between the parallels 21°02 'and 21°13' north latitude. The meridians 98°49 'and 99°03 of west longitude. With an altitude between 200 and 1700 meters above sea level, this municipality has an area of 232.3 km2, and represents 1.12% of the state's surface, within the geographical region known as Sierra Gorda. It borders on the north with the municipality of Pisaflores and with the state of San Luis Potosí. To the east with the state of San Luis Potosí and the municipality of Tepehuacán de Guerrero.
To the south with the municipalities of Tepehuacán de Guerrero and La Misión. To the west with the municipalities of La Misión and Pisaflores.
