Chanal
Chanal is a Mexican municipality located in the center of the state of Chiapas, its municipal capital is the town of the same name, it is located in the Central Highlands and its territory is mountainous in its majority. Chanal means wise that teaches, in the Tzeltal language. It limits to the north with the municipality of Oxchuc and Altamirano, to the east with Las Margaritas, to the south with Comitán and to the west with Amatenango del Valle and Huixtán.
