Amatenango del Valle
Amatenango del Valle is a small Mexican city that is located in the center of the Mexican state of Chiapas, it is the municipal seat of the municipality of the same name, in the administrative region II Altos. The name of Amatenango means, in Nahuatl Fort or fortification of amates. The municipality is located in the Central Highlands of Chiapas, with most of the land being semi-flat. It limits to the north with the municipality of Huixtán, to the south with Villa las Rosas and Venustiano Carranza, to the west with Teopisca and to the east with Chanal and Comitán de Domínguez.
