Cowlitz County is one of the 39 counties of the US state of Washington. In July 2007 its population was 100,467 inhabitants. It is part of the Longview, Washington Metropolitan Area that covers the entire County. He's in Kelso, and his biggest city is Longview. Its name derives from Cowlitz a word that means "seeker". It was formed on April 21,1854. The 2000 population census had 92,948 people, 35,850 households and 25,059 families residing in the county. The population density was 82 people per square mile.
