Polk County
Polk County, founded in 1848, is one of 72 counties of the US state of Wisconsin. In the year 2000, the county had a population of 41,319 inhabitants and a population density of 17 people per km². The county seat is Balsam Lake, and the county is named in honor of the President of the United States, James Polk.
