Hancock County
Hancock County founded in 1789 is a county in the US state of Maine. In 2000 the county had a population of 51,791 inhabitants in a population density of 13 people per km². The county seat is Ellsworth, and the county is named after John Hancock, the first governor of Massachusetts.
