Knox County
Knox County is a county in the US state of Illinois. In the 2000 census the county had a population of 55,836 inhabitants. It is part of the micropolitan area of Galesburg. The county seat is Galesburg. The county was formed in 1825 from a portion of Fulton County. It was named in honor of Henry Knox, the first Secretary of War of the United States.
