Jefferson County
Jefferson County, founded in 1801, is one of the 55 counties of the US state of West Virginia. In the year 2000 it had a population of 42,190 inhabitants with a population density of 78 people per km². The county seat is Charles Town, and the county is also part of the Washington D. C. Metropolitan area.
