Pemiscot County
Pemiscot County, founded in 1851, is one of 114 counties in the US state of Missouri. In 2008, the county had a population of 18,515 inhabitants and a population density of 16 people per km². The county seat is Caruthersville, and the county gets its name in honor of an Amerindian word meaning "liquid mud.".
