Greene County
Greene County, founded in 1833, is one of 114 counties in the US state of Missouri. In the year 2000, the county had a population of 266,944 inhabitants and a population density of 152 people per km². The county seat is Springfield. The county is named after the Revolutionary War of Independence of the United States Nathanael Greene. Greene County is part of the Springfield metropolitan area.
