Cass County
Cass County is a county in the US state of Missouri. At the 2000 census the county had a population of 82,092 inhabitants. It is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area. The county seat is Harrisonville. The county was formed in 1835 under the name of Van Buren County. In 1838 the name was changed to the current one in honor of Lewis Cass, a senator from Michigan and presidential candidate in the 1848 elections.
