Boone County
The county of Boone is a county in the US state of Missouri. In the 2000 census the county had a population of 135,454 inhabitants. It is part of the metropolitan area of Columbia. The county seat is Columbia. The county was formed on November 16,1820 from a portion of Howard County. It was named in honor of Daniel Boone, a pioneer and American colonizer.
