Jackson County
Jackson County, founded in 1816, is one of 102 counties in the US state of Illinois. In 2008, the county had a population of 58.841 inhabitants and a population density of 39 people per km². The county seat is Murphysboro, and the county is named in honor of Andrew Jackson.
