Newton County
Newton County, founded in 1821, is one of 159 counties in the US state of Georgia. In the year 2006, the county had a population of 98,451 inhabitants and a population density of 55 people per km². The county seat is Covington. The county receives its name in honor of John Newton. Newton County is part of the Atlanta Metropolitan Area.
