Independence County
Independence County is a county in the US state of Arkansas. In the 2000 census the county had a population of 34,233 inhabitants. The county seat is Batesville, which was the ninth of the current 75 counties of Arkansas, and was founded on October 20,1820. It was named after the Declaration of Independence of the United States. The micropolitan area of Batesville includes all of Batesville County.
