Saint Thomas Island
Saint Thomas is an island located in the Caribbean Sea. It is the main island of the Virgin Islands, territory of the United States and it is the main city and port of the island Carlota Amalia, which is also the capital of the archipelago. In the census of the year 2000 the population of Saint Thomas was of 51,181 inhabitants, who constituted approximately 47% of the population of the Virgin Islands of the United States. The island covers an area of 80.9 km².
