San José de Ocoa
San José de Ocoa is one of the 32 provinces of the Dominican Republic, in the foothills of the Cordillera Central in the sub-region of Valdesia. Bordered on the north by the provinces Monseñor Nouel and La Vega, to the east by the province of San Cristóbal, to the south by the province of Peravia and to the west by the province of Azua. Its capital is the homonymous city. It was created in 2000, although it did not come into force until January 1,2002. Before its creation, it was a municipality of the Peravia province.
