Cochabamba

Cochabamba is one of the nine departments that form the Plurinational State of Bolivia, being the third department in economic importance of Bolivia, its capital is the homonymous Cochabamba. It is located in the center of the country, bounded on the north by Beni, on the east by Santa Cruz, on the south by Chuquisaca and Potosí, on the southwest by Oruro and on the west by La Paz. It has 1 758 143 inhabitants in 2012, it is the third most populated department -behind La Paz and Santa Cruz- and with 31.6 hab / km², the most densely populated. It was founded on January 23,1826.
