Vientiane
The province of Vientiane is a province of Laos, located in the northwest of the country. In the year 1989 the province was divided into two halves: On the one hand the Prefecture of Vientiane was created, which contains the capital city of Laos, Vientiane. On the other hand, the size of Vientiane province decreased. It has 15,927 km² of surface and a population of 373,700 people.
