Baghlan
Baglán is one of the thirty-four provinces of Afghanistan. It is located in the north of the country. Its capital is Puli Khumri, but the name of the province derives from another great city, Baglán. Other important cities are Andarāb, Dahaneh-ye Ġawri, Nahrīn and Pol-e Humrī. It has an area of 21,112 km², which in terms of extension is similar to that of El Salvador. It has a population of 779,000 inhabitants. The ruins of a temple of fire of Zoroastrianism, Surkh Kotal, is located in Baglán.
